One option across many countries

Muslim families in Europe live in very different situations. Some are close to a large community with mosques and weekend schools; others are the only Muslim family in their town. Online one-to-one lessons give every child the same regular teacher and a clear learning path, wherever they live.

Timezones and clock changes

Most of continental Europe uses Central European Time, with Portugal, Ireland, Finland, Greece and several other countries one hour either side. All EU countries change their clocks on the same weekends in March and October. Tell us your country and city when you book and your lesson stays at the same local time.

The language of teaching

Children in Europe often speak the local language at school, a home language with family, and some English. Tell us which language the learner is most comfortable being taught in and we will tell you honestly what is available before the trial, so lessons are understood, not only heard.

Around school and weekend activities

European school days vary from country to country, and some children finish at lunchtime on certain days. Short lessons after school or on weekend mornings tend to work best, and they fit alongside sports clubs and weekend Islamic school.

Accountability

Lessons are one-to-one and delivered through our own MAKTAB learning platform. Every lesson is supervised and recorded, and parents of children receive a monthly PDF progress report.

Watch

Quran Reading

Noorani Qaida with Tajweed, Lesson 1: The Single Letters (Mufradat), Part A

The first video in our Noorani Qaida series. It introduces the single Arabic letters (Mufradat) one at a time, the very first step towards reading the Quran, and gives parents and beginners a clear feel for how our teachers explain each stage before you book a free trial. Parents can watch it with their child to see what the very first stage of reading looks like and how letters are introduced one by one. In live lessons the same first stage is taught one-to-one, with the teacher listening to the learner and correcting pronunciation straight away, so mistakes do not become habits. When the single letters are secure, learners move on to joined letters, vowel marks and, in time, fluent Quran reading.
